In an AI-driven future, being a generalist may not be enough. Students who lack specialization may find themselves easily replaceable. AI excels at doing broad, repetitive tasks faster and more cheaply. While generalists bring flexibility, that won’t matter if machines can outperform them. Students need to dig deeper—choose a niche, develop a unique voice, and build expertise that sets them apart. Generalism isn’t dead, but it needs to be paired with specific, high-value contributions. The singularity won’t reward the jack-of-all-trades—it will reward the master who can work alongside intelligent systems with purpose and precision.
